As construction powers ahead on the transformation of Maleny Grove, works this month have focused on the new community centre, front entry, civil infrastructure, home construction and landscaping.

Demolition works have continued at the existing community centre, including concrete cutting and clearing of the former alfresco area. Detailed design is also progressing, with architectural and supporting consultant designs now approximately 75 per cent complete.

Another significant milestone has been reached with the application for approval of the new swimming pool submitted to Council. Good progress has also been made at the new front entry, with the entry footings completed and blockwork now forming the entry statement and letterbox area. Installation of the letterboxes and concreting of the surrounding footpaths are the next steps.

Stage 1B retaining walls are now complete, while retaining wall construction continues through Stage 2. Excess soil has been progressively removed, with house blocks trimmed and levelled in preparation for handover to the home builder.

The installation of water and sewer infrastructure is now complete, while electrical and communications pits are continuing, alongside further road and pavement construction, including additional concrete pours across Stage 2.

Home construction is progressing across a broad range of stages, from underground services, piers and concrete slabs through to framing, roofing, external finishes and internal fit-out. Cladding, rendering and internal plastering are underway on multiple homes, while others continue through framing, roofing and internal wall installation.

Landscaping works are continuing throughout the estate, with garden beds being shaped, edged and prepared for planting. Soil, mulch and decorative rock have also been installed in several areas to establish foundations for the village’s future landscaped environment.
